I'm a sucker for '00s-era throwbacks, and you did a nice job with this Animator vs. Animation send-up.
Ending was pretty clever, if a wee bit anticlimactic.

i really appreciate the welcome, yeah i had a bigger ending in mind, but i'm planning on extending it by like a epilogue animation, after it happened, what happened to the stick figure, did they live? stuff like that, but again, 'preciate it! and the epilogue will have more modern alan becker tones to it, but everything else will be old style, or developing just like alan.

I was expecting a jumpscare which never came whilst watching this.

Mario's ass-kicking looked vicious from the starting ambush to the full-strength finish.
I did notice a minor technical error whilst Goku was pummelling Mario - I could see some white space once the camera went low enough.
