This goes insanely hard. The crab planet looks like a prehistoric Earth.

Impressively ethereal-feeling, and kinda ominous, too. I'm not sure what happened to that poor soul, and I feel like I'm better off not knowing.

I have zero clue what anime/manga these two are from, but Christ they look smug and suave in equal measure

Very nicely done, and bursting with personality.

I didn't know the betadine brush existed until now, but holy shit was it the right tool for the job here. Both of these are creepy as hell, and the brushwork amkes them look and feel borderline-hellish.

[Close Encounter]

That fisheye's sure as hell ensuring this is gonna be a close encounter. The effect's pretty tastefully used here - just enough to emphasise the astronaut and the UFO, but not pushed too hard to the point of feeling excessive.

Ol' Astro and the UFO also contrast well with the naturally-coloured suburban environment they're in.

Really love the brushwork on both of these.

Girl's cooked, and we're left only to imagine the carnage. Her amazed expression and general vibe of amazement helps provide a lotta mood dissonance to this piece.
