Short, but unsettling, with an animation style reminding me of Salad Fingers.
Solid choice of music, too - the desolate sounding guitar did a good job putting me on edge.

TheLostCount responds:

Thanks a lot for the feedback! :)

I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the interactive menu - Flash is a bit of a lost art these days. Main error I noticed was the menu not being available on slide 1 - led to the instructions slightly confusing me there.

Your art's also pretty cool to see, with bold colours and a strong Y2K charm.

weirdosona responds:

i intentionally hid the menu because the placement hides some of the words, and it's so big that you can't really place it in a good place that allows you to read (and i'm unable to customize it for some reason)
also, thank you! i never thought of my art as y2k, but i was definitely inspired by the era :3
embarrassingly, i used a template, but the disclaimer screen was my own creation (was kinda hard to make because i didn't know what was making it start from slide 2 at first until i found it was because of actionscript)

A lovingly animated and authored film noir parody - Davidson's monologue provides plenty of sidesplitters and some neat bits of worldbuilding about the dumpster fire of a city he resides in.

Post-credits blooper was pretty funny to watch, as well.

PadrePuerte responds:

Thanks a ton! Appreciate you watching, glad you liked it! <3

Very damn stylish and chaotic - feels like an official video for Nu:Carnival.

PinkPoppo responds:

Wow I'm flattered! I'd like to make something official for Nu:C/Pinkcore one day

Very cute little robots, even if they're a bit slow on the draw.
Neat bits of slapstick, too.

Pitigamedev responds:

Thank you for the feedback!

Quick heads-up: the YouTube embed in your description's busted.

Nice work as usual - Monk and Charlie really sent me on a rollercoaster with those beans.

AncientEgo responds:

Thanks for the heads up Blue Monday and hell yeah so glad you enjoyed their little adventure with the beans!

The visuals felt like I took a time machine back to my childhood. The 2D platformer style reminds me more of the Flash games I grew up with, rather than the PS1-era platformers of the time, but it does a good job inspiring nostalgia nonetheless.

The goblin's nonchalant oneshotting of the knight caught me off guard and cracked me up pretty hard. I'm also dying to know what the "secret third option" was.

FunkyPepe responds:

haha its a secret!

This felt like a circa '93 ketamine fever dream. Its like a a Net Yaroze had a nightmare.
I'm still pretty impressed with this low-poly experiment, though - you've got the 5th-gen 3D style down pat.

jthrash responds:

Thank you. When I imitate the 5th console generation (N64/PS1/Saturn), my specific influences include Rayman 2 and Tonic Trouble. I was a smidge worried that the 1K textures I used might break the illusion (PS1 textures were often 128x128 pixels while N64 textures were often even lower at 32x32 pixels), but I guess it still looks fine as sort of a pre-rendered cutscene from that era.

And yes, the nightmare vibes were 100% intentional, especially with the background music being a combination of inane singing, hysterical crying and my best impression of a turtle climaxing after intercourse.

EDIT: Oh, and the sirens at the end were off course inspired by the sirens that played at the end of major boss fights in the original Silent Hill for PS1. Definitely adds to the creep factor.

Pretty alright Eddsworld imitation from what I can tell - now just come up with a solid episode idea and you'll have yourself a pretty nice watch.
Welcome to Newgrounds, I can see plenty of potential in you.

(Quick sidenote: The BGM's coming exclusively out my right ear when I watch this - I think you might've made an error in the audio.)

FroggoCookies responds:

aw thank you!! im doing that rn currently <33

Also, Idk if i made a mistake or not.. it sounds pretty normal to me, I think it's just not meant to be heard thru earphones thats all

I don't remember the SNES (born in 2000), but this is still pretty cute.
Loop of the spinning SNES in the opening obviously doesn't do a full spin, but Pen's bouncy dance moves were pretty cool.

StarryPen responds:

Yeah I kinda got lazy with the spinning snes lol

Keeping the portal functioning fine, one gratuitous rhyme at a time.
