A quick-and-dirty six-second shitpost - the "game" itself is trivial to win, but you'll still get a good laugh at the punchline.

I remembered having a fair bit of fun playing this as a kid, and I'd say this sorta holds up.

The base gameplay's pretty fun, especially with the ability to block incoming damage with your shield, but the lack of info on your HUD and the lack of enemy variety drag this down pretty hard.

The turret(s) being offset from the centre did throw off my aim at first, but I adapted pretty quickly.

A fun roguelike twist on Tetris, with plenty of replay value.

This was a whole lotta fun to go through, with so many cool outfits and so many hilariously silly voicelines. The Twist button was a fun nod to the jam's overall idea, too!

Only major criticisms I have are the long load times when starting the game, and the clothes being a bit finicky - seems the code for determining if clothes are on Twigi (and, by extension, whether or not to move them when scrolling) may be a bit fragile.

A nice, fat slice of then-contemporary post-crash catharsis, loaded with '00s-era grit and headed by a stick figure with the voice of a pissed-off Christian Bale.

Its a damn good snapshot of the boiling rage people felt in the wake of the subprime mortgage crisis, with Bernie Madoff serving quite well as a walking symbol of Wall Street greed.

Stroop Effect: The Game

A dead simple idea, executed well, leading to some good-old arcadey fun.

Perfect!

This doesn't have much added compared to its original version (https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/310897) - just medals, highscores and a visual upgrade, but with a core idea this solid, that's all the game really needed.

Aprime responds:

I'll add more to it next time

A playable Simpsons gag with some medals on the side? Can't argue with that.

The folding chair's virtually useless due to its lengthy startup, leaving you wide open for O'Bannon to to interrupt you. If you're looking to get the medals quickly, use it once, then just jackhammer A until you win. Once you've won, click O'Bannon's corpse for "Dead Poker".

The lack of a reset button is a complaint of mine - I can sidestep it by simply using the context menu, but it would've been nice to have. The game defaulting to low quality's another gripe of mine.

Aprime responds:

But low quality helps it pixelate 😁😁

Getting heads makes me feel like I've sold my soul to the Devil, and getting tails makes me feel like I've been sent to Quebec. Not sure which experience is worse.

This isn't a Flappy Bird clone, this is a bad acid trip in game form.
Everything about this just feels strange and offputting. The use of the phrase "prolong the experience" in the controls section is quite fitting.

Newgrounds is damn good.
